  • Doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) from the University of Munich
  • 1977-1981: Gesellschaft für Systementwicklung (company specialising in systems development) – consultant, trainer
  • 1981-1986: Scientific Control Systems / British Petroleum: member of the senior management team
  • 1987-1992: Digital Equipment Corporation: Manager of People & Organisation Development
  • 1993-1996: Client director at the GfW (a post-graduate training provider for the University of the Armed Forces in Munich)
