Degree programmes successfully accredited

The accreditation process for eight programmes in the Faculty of Business and Economics and fourteen in the Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes was successfully concluded at the end of 2006. All these study programmes have now received a quality seal from the FIBAA or AQAS accrediting agencies. In 2007, a further study programme in the Faculty of Business and Economics successfully passed the ACQUIN accreditation process. At present, accreditation is on-going for another two programmes.

All nine programmes in the Faculty of Business and Economics were positively evaluated without exception. The six Bachelor and two Master programmes in the Faculty of Business and Economics all met the FIBAA's professional and substantive requirements without any changes required, and have been awarded the FIBAA quality seal. The ACQUIN accredited study programme similarly successfully met all the requirements. To ensure the present standards are maintained, all these programmes will undergo a re-accreditation process in five years.

The 14 sandwich degree courses in the Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes have also been successfully accredited and received the requisite quality seals. The accreditation officially recognised the intensive nature of the eleven business and three technical programmes, i.e., with overall student achievement equivalent to a total of 210 Credit Points. Since the work experience phases are now recognised as an integral part of the qualification, the study workload was given a higher weighting.

Now, after the successful accreditation of these degree courses, the Berlin School of Economics has 29 study programmes bearing the quality seal of a German accreditation agency. This makes the Berlin School of Economics one of the first German universities to have the vast majority of its study programmes accredited.
