The Cooperative Studies Programme in Business Administration combines business theory as taught at university with practical, applied experience in an industrial or commercial company. After only seven semesters, successful students can obtain two vocational qualifications: the German Industry and Commerce "Industriekaufmann/-frau (IHK)“ and the internationally recognised Bachelor of Arts degree. The applied commercial training on the course is integrated into the Business Administration programme.

Programme Details

This undergraduate programme provides solid basic skills in main topics such as International Financial Reporting, Informatics and Business English. The modules also include a Strategic Planning Game, communication skills, product marketing, project management and information processing. The supervised work experience gives students a real-life insight into a range of company departments, from Sales and Marketing to Accounting and HR, and into corporate organisation and communication.

 

The Part Two modules include streamed electives in Marketing or Accounting and Controlling. , The final phase is a three-month period for preparing a dissertation in the selected area.

Supervised Work Experience The programme follows a sandwich course structure, with study phases at the Berlin School of Economics (FHW), training phases with the cooperation partner (company-linked training phase (BPU)), and supervised work experience with the cooperation partner. After three years, the company-linked training concludes with an IHK exam.
Work Experience Abroad 6-8 weeks of supervised work experience abroad can be taken at the start of Part Two; the work experience is taken at the cooperation partner's overseas branch.

Admission Requirements

As a rule, applications need to submitted one year in advance; they can only be submitted online to Siemens AG.
