Commercial Law
Bachelor of Laws have applied expertise in the areas of civil law, the substantive law of the EU, public and constitutional law, commercial and business law, criminal and administrative law, and the principles of the corresponding codes of procedures and practices. Graduates are familiar with national and supranational legal methods for analysing case facts and legal materials, have the requisite communicative and social skills, and are able to explain and discuss legal problems in English. The programme concludes with a three-month dissertation and an oral exam.

There are a wide range of possible careers in demanding positions in areas where legal knowledge and the ability to present clear arguments is required. Successful graduates on this programme can apply for legal positions that do not expressly require fully-qualified lawyers. Such positions can be found in the business sector and in public administrations, as well as in associations and federations. The knowledge and expertise acquired on this programme are also in demand in areas outside the classic legal professions, for instance in journalism or policy counselling.
Programme Details
The Commercial Law degree (LL.B.) has a modular structure and takes six semesters (prescribed period of study). The modules required for the degree are equivalent to 180 Credit Points under the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. In the fourth semester, students take part in a supervised work placement.
LL.B. graduates may be able to join a course of postgraduate study to obtain a Master of Laws (LL.M), which is the usual requirement for taking part in a Ph.D. programme. It may also be possible to join other legal degree programmes at those institutions recognising the performance record on this Commercial Law programme.

Specialists in private law, public law, and criminal law and the professors of the three classic main subjects combine expert knowledge with solid teaching skills to provide tuition through a series of lectures, seminars, and exercises in small groups. The programme is designed so that external revision is not required.
The programme has strong links to real-life practice. The academic staff also includes lecturers with experience of working in the areas taught.
