Campus2010
The Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL) is established at three locations in the boroughs of Schöneberg, Friedrichshain and Lichtenberg, right at the heart of this vibrant European capital city. The central campus in Schöneberg is home to the University Management, the main administration, the Faculty of Business and Economics (Faculty 1), the IMB Institute of Management Berlin and the BSEL's Business Incubation Centre. Other BSEL central institutes as well as Faculties 3 to 5 are located on the Lichtenberg Campus in the east of the city, while the Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes (Faculty 2) uses the rooms on the nearby Friedrichshain Campus. Each campus has its own library, as well as a dining hall or cafeteria. By the end of 2010, the Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes (Faculty 2) will have relocated to the Lichtenberg Campus. From 2011, a number of faculties will be using the Friedrichshain Campus facilities for lectures and seminars.
Schöneberg Campus opens new main building
The new Schöneberg Campus main building at Badensche Straße 52 is opening for the 2010/11 winter semester. The complex, parts of which are under a heritage conservation order, has been extensively refurbished and is now ready for occupancy. The new building offers around 5300m² of space for teaching and administration.
Lichtenberg Campus modernisation and extension
After the BSEL was created by the merger of the BSE and the FHVR Berlin, moves were taken to start renovating and extending the Lichtenberg Campus. After the work is completed in late 2010, the Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes is scheduled to relocate there. From 2011, the campus will offer modern teaching and learning facilities for around 4000 students.
