Catalogues

Beginning 1997, the card catalogues have been transformed into digital catalogues, so called OPACS. Current metadata are therefore found in the OPAC. All media (Books, Cd-Roms, Videos etc.) which the library purchases are being listed under opac.hwr-berlin.de

The list of periodicals - in print as well as electronic - is found in the electronic periodicals catalogue

Non-Circulating Media

Part of our stack is not lendable. These media are marked with the "Präs"-Symbol meaning that the item has to be present in the library at any time.

Additionally, some of the media are excluded from circulation on request of university teachers for one term; so-called project-linked term stack. These media are marked with a red point. The only exception is the possibility to borrow these books half an hour before closing and to return them half an hour after the next opening.

Shelf Marks

Every piece of media is being marked with a number according to our subject systematics. (e.g. Introduction into corporate finance: B / 43). This group number is being followed by an inner systematic number (B 43 / 320). The combination of these resemble the shelf marks and are the physical adresses of the books as well since the library uses subject systematics when placing the media.
