Graduation ceremony for the German-French degree programme
We would be hard-pressed to find a more fitting date for the German-French degree programme “International Management”, celebrated as it was on 9 May 2017: Europe Day. The Bachelor’s degree programme is followed directly by the Master's degree programme.
With the 19 graduates, 50 invited guests and a number of HWR professors, the HWR senate room on the Schöneberg Campus was well filled. The celebrations were opened with speeches from Prof Otto von Campenhausen, Dean of the Department of Business and Economics and Christophe Boisseau. This was followed by a humorous address from two of the graduates Katrin Bonk and Clara Saslawsky, filled with anecdotes from four years of study. The presentation ceremony was led by the Academic Director Prof Jennifer Pédussel Wu, who opened with a speech in three languages. The watching guests, made up of families from both Germany and France showed their appreciation of the graduates with applause. The department managed to hold the grade average of last year - 1.9. Especial applause was accorded to Katrin Bonk, who graduated with an overall grade of 1.1. This year, five students were awarded 1.0 for their Bachelor’s thesis.
All graduates threw their mortar boards in the air and then raised a glass both to their achievement and the start of next year’s Master's degree. The ceremony finished with a reception, with guests from both countries intermingling. The BSEL would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the graduates and wish them the best of success with their Master's studies.
