Wissenschaftlicher und beruflicher Werdegang

  • 1989-1993: Studied Economics at the Technical University, Berlin and the University of Sussex in England, graduating with a Diploma in Economics and an MA in International Economics
  • 1998: Doctorate from the Humboldt University, Berlin; title of dissertation: “Labor mobility and wage dynamics – an empirical study for Germany in comparison with the United States”
  • 1998-2005: Research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Educational Research – in the research area of education, work and social development
  • Since April 2005: Professor at the Berlin School of Economics and Law
  • 2009: Post-doctoral lecturing qualification at the Humboldt University, Berlin on the topic, “Vocational training systems, regional unemployment and fixed-term contracts as career determinants”
  • Since October 2009: Dean of Studies at the Vocational Academy
