HWR Berlin libraries
The HWR Berlin offers its students, professors, lecturers and employees a comprehensive library service at any time.
Library reopens on 11 March 2020
As of 11 May 2020, the university libraries at both locations in Schöneberg and Lichtenberg will offer you a limited on-site service. From Monday to Friday, between 10.00 and 15.00, you can borrow media you have ordered in advance or return media you no longer require.
Due to the current hygiene and security measures, borrowing and returning is only possible after booking an appointment in the Moodle course Terminreservierung für die Ausleihe -und Rückgabe in der Bibliothek (Appointment reservation for borrowing and returning in the library).
Research and order media in advance
If you want to borrow media, you have to research and order it in advance. The media will be ordered during the appointment booking via Moodle. In order to make the processes on site as smooth as possible, we ask you to follow the steps described in the Moodle course.
Opening of the reading rooms from 1 July 2020
Starting July 1, 2020, the university library will expand its limited service at both locations: You will then again have the opportunity to work at single workstations within the libraries with reference copies and journals from the library stock.
The use of the workstations on site is only possible after prior appointment reservation via our Moodle course appointment reservation for the use of the reading room in the library. We have set up two time slots per opening day (Monday to Friday) at both locations for this purpose:
- from 10.00 to 12.30
- from 13.00 to 15.00
Please reserve only one workstation if you wish to work on site with reference copies from the library stock. If you only want to borrow or return media, please continue to reserve a date via our Moodle course date reservation for borrowing and returning media in the library.
Working in the library is only possible at the workplace that is personally assigned on site. Group work is generally not permitted due to the distance regulations to be observed.
The following services cannot be offered at the moment:
- Pay fees in cash on site
- Information and advice on research (only by telephone or e-mail)
- Make or print copies or scans on your own,
- View presence copies and magazines
We will be pleased to continue to scan individual articles from printed journals from the library's stock for you, taking into account copyright law. Please send us an e-mail to hsb.cl(at)hwr-berlin.de or hsb.cs(at)hwr-berlin.de.
The mouth-nose protection obligation applies at both library locations! Please keep the minimum distance of 2 meters while waiting.
