Online databases

Numerous online databases and other freely accessible services can be accessed via the Database Information System (DBIS) interface.

These include access to databases acquired with the support of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and its partner institutions. DBIS also provides an overview of the database offering of a number of German-language libraries.

Legal database: verdicts, commentaries and papers, manuals, forms and contractual templates. Full text version of latest jurisprudence, approximately 4,500 full texts each month and legal database including academic news.

3,550 full text journals, of which 2,100 are peer-reviewed (extended numbers as at 30/07/2017) plus 60,000 videos from the news agency Associated Press. Other databases, such as Econlit and GreenFILE, are accessible via the EBSCO Host.

The primary aim of DOAB is to increase traceability of Open Access books. The directory is open to all publishers who publish academic, peer reviewed books in Open Access and should contain as many books as possible, provided that these publications are in Open Access and meet academic standards.
More than 5,000 journals, of which more than 2,000 can be read in their full text version, searchable by article.
Freely available on the Internet without restrictions
EconLit, the American Economic Association’s electronic database, contains more than 1,010,900 data records for literature dated from 1969 to the present day. EconLit covers virtually all economic subject areas and adjacent areas with references to relevant documents. It also features leading key journals and books (e-books) in full text format, which do not form part of Business Source Complete, including among others the Handbook of World Trade.

The Entrepreneurial Studies Source database provides the latest insights into topics of general importance to entrepreneurs and of particular importance to small businesses. This resource provides users with the full text version of more than 125 key academic journals, 135 reference works and manuals, case studies, thousands of corporate profiles and more than 600 videos with transcripts and related articles from the Harvard Faculty Series and Vator.TV.

The Gabler Wirtschaftslexikon, published by the company Springer-Gabler, has been regarded as a classic among economic literature for more than 50 years. The works have been freely available online with an extended service offering since 2009. The freely accessible expert knowledge includes 25,000 keywords - written by 180 accredited experts and editorially reviewed on an ongoing basis.

The comprehensive Juris Spectrum legal database contains the following legal information: jurisprudence, legal texts, provisions, Juris practical reports and literature. It has also included the FamRZonline portal since 2013. It includes the FamRZ journal and other premium content from leading specialist publishers. Kanopy
TESTLAUF bis 30.November 2018
Bis zum 30.November 2018 kann im HWR Netz kostenfrei der On-Demand-Streaming Video-Dienst Kanopy getestet werden. Kanopy bietet seinen Service Bildungseinrichtungen an und ermöglicht den Zugriff auf gegenwärtig ca. 14.000 Filme, Dokumentationen, Serien und Lehrvideos, vorwiegend in englischer Sprache, in einer großen thematischen Bandbreite. Kanopy arbeitet direkt mit Filmemachern und Film-Vertriebsgesellschaften zusammen und bietet so u. a. Material der Media Education Foundation, von PBS und der BBC. Aus lizenzrechtlichen Gründen sind einige Titel nur für Nutzer aus dem nordamerikanischen Raum freigegeben, darunter ein Großteil der Spielfilme aus der bekannten Criterion Collection. Wahlweise lassen sich englischsprachige Untertitel für die in überwiegend guter Qualität vorliegenden Filme einblenden. Nach einer kostenfreien Registrierung beim Anbieter können Favoritenlisten oder Ausschnitte erstellt und über soziale Netzwerke wie Facebook oder Twitter geteilt werden.
