HWR Berlin libraries

The HWR Berlin offers its students, professors, lecturers and employees a comprehensive library service at any time.

Borrowing and returning items

Media can be borrowed and returned in the library at both locations without making an appointment or ordering the media.

If you would like to borrow or return media, please come to the library during the opening hours (Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). During lecture free time (August and September 2022), the libraries have different opening hours.

Though not mandatory, we advise you to wear a medical mask for your own and our safety. Please keep the minimum distance of 2 meters when waiting in line.

Please enter the entrance area of the library as individually as possible and without accompanying persons.

Opening of the reading rooms

The workstations at both library branches are available again.

In order to use them you will need a reservation and proof, that you have not contracted Covid-19 in one of the following forms (3G-rule):

  • A negative Corona-Test, (validity: rapid-antigen-test: 24 hours; PCR-test: 46 hours)
  • A certificate of a complete vaccination
  • Proof of your recovery form Covid-19 (positive corona-test not newer than 28 days or older than six month)

You can use the following services at both locations:

  • Scanning
  • Printing
  • Copying
  • Using Research PCs on-site

If you want to use the PC workstations at Campus Schöneberg you will not need a reservation. If you want to use the PC-workstations at Campus Lichtenberg, please contact hsb.c(at)hwr-berlin.de to reserve a spot in advance.

Using the carrels at Campus Schöneberg is not yet possible.

No CampusCard?

Good to know: The matriculation number with the faculty addition (for example 7721 for faculty 1 - economics) is also the user numberfor the university library. You can find this if you create your library password using Bibkey.

All other library users of HWR Berlin can register at the information counter of the library. Please have your ID card and a university membership document with you.
