Seminar under the framework of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) sponsoring programme, funded by the German Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt)
The eighth Summer School on Law and Public Administration will be held from the 5th to the 16th June 2016 at Campus Lichtenberg of the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin).
The 18 Summer School’s participants are students of Master programmes of the National Academy of Public Administration, under the President of Ukraine (NAPA) in Kiev, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institutes of Public Administration, Kharkiv and Odessa, the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kiev and the Humanist Private University in Zaporižžja.
The Summer School is financed by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) in OST-West dialogue, funding line 2, under the programme “Support for democracy in the Ukraine”.
It closely follows the funding of the program DAAD Summer School and has a legal and administrative sciences focus. With regard to content, the program focuses on key issues and key principles of a democratic state. Complementary teaching of the state system and the political and social system of the Federal Republic of Germany shall be given in addition. The individual lectures in English conducted by the professors of the BSEL will give a broad area of discussion with Ukrainian students who are fluent in English, conveying not only technical knowledge, but in particular promoting a modern teaching methodology, the criticism and discussion culture of the students.
German, students in the Security Management and public administration field, are actively participating in a business game called "The food scandal: Deadly allergens in the baby food" and a workshop on "welfare state and social law".
This task will be carried out with the assistance of international experts from Serbia. Students will be instructed on how to solve problems and determining decisions, in the professional practice of executives of public administration at different levels.
In addition, excursions to the German Bundestag and the Bundesrat, in various district offices, the Berlin Administrative Court and in a section of the Berlin police were held.
