Virtual open house – Student counseling services
No matter if you just began to study at the HWR Berlin and everything is new or if you’re about to finish your degree: on December 1st 2020, 4 pm, the team of the student counseling services and the student union (Asta) will answer all your questions regarding your studies at the HWR Berlin. We’re meeting on the online event App Wonder. This event allows you to talk to the student counseling services and other students in a casual atmosphere. We provide advice, information and support in all phases of study. Just drop by.

Wonder is cost free
Wonder is a start-up of the founding centre of the HWR Berlin. The use of the online app is of course free of charge.
How does wonder work?
Each person is represented by a little avatar. By clicking or dragging your mouse, you can move around the room. If you get close enough to someone else, a videochat opens. You can see other people moving around the space and talking to each other, but you cannot hear or see their conversation unless you stand in the small circle around them.
How do I move around the room?
Click anywhere in the room with your mouse and keep holding - and here we go, your avatar will make his first steps.
How do I chat to other guests?
If you want to join a conversation, just move close enough to the group until your avatar stands within the coloured circle. You can also use written chat from anywhere in the room to communicate with individual guests, your current group or the whole room.
Please note:
- Register with your full name.
- Activate your camera and take a picture.
- Wonder runs on any web browser - on your desktop and mobile. You don't need to download anything.
- We recommend Google Chrome as your browser program.
- Close all other applications.
