Winter Semester 2023/24: Welcome to Berlin!
It is that time of year again: The winter semester is just around the corner and we would like to extend a warm welcome to our international exchange students at the HWR Berlin!
It is a great pleasure to announce that around 200 exchange students from 63 different nations have now joined us here at Campus Schöneberg. On Monday, 4 September, the President of the HWR Berlin, Prof. Dr. Andreas Zaby, together with the International Office, welcomed around 200 new international students from 63 different countries. The event took place both in person and online, so that those who had not yet arrived in Berlin could also take part.
With the exchange students who have already arrived in March 2023 and will stay for another semester, there are now around 210 international students at Campus Schöneberg. This diverse composition of different nationalities contributes to a vibrant and international learning community.
Throughout September, we offer exchange students the unique opportunity to improve their German language skills in an exciting and free intensive language course. But that's not all! Together with the International Office, we also offer exciting activities to explore the city.
One of the highlights is a fascinating boat trip along the historic Spree River, where participants can experience the beauty and history of Berlin up close. From the imposing buildings to the hidden treasures along the river - there is so much to discover!
Furthermore, the exchange students have the opportunity to explore the impressive exhibitions at the Humboldt Forum. Here they can be inspired by a variety of cultural treasures and fascinating stories.
Of course, the discussion of Berlin's turbulent history is not to be missed. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the Palace of Tears and feel the oppressive atmosphere of this historic site. We also offer an excursion to the Sachsenhausen Memorial, where guests can learn more about Germany's dark past.
Not only the language course, but also the accompanying activities promise an unforgettable experience in September. A perfect opportunity to improve your German, make new friends and explore the fascinating city of Berlin. Join us and be inspired by our varied programme!
