HWR Berlin library

The HWR Berlin offers its members a comprehensive library service at two locations.

  • The contents of the WiSo database are currently not available. The provider is working to resolve the issue.
  • The library will be closed at both locations during the long weekend on Ascension Day, from May 9th to May 12th, 2024. We will be there for you again from May 13th, 2024.

Borrowing and returning in the university library

Media can be borrowed and returned in the library at both locations without prior reservation and without prior ordering of the media.

Use of the reading rooms

Workstations are available for you at both library locations.
During opening hours, you can use the individual workstations as well as the PC workstations and group work rooms. Registration is not required.

Other library services

You can print, scan and copy at both locations. Research and work PCs are also available to you.

We continue to offer you differentiated information and advice on research by telephone or e-mail.

Do you have any questions?

You can reach us via phone during the opening hours under +49 30 30877-1284. Or you can write us an email.

Library services

You can view loan periods in the library account and also independently carry out renewals, reservations and branch orders. For students, the user number is on the CampusCard under the word "Library". All other members of the HWR Berlin can find their user number under the barcode on their library card. You also use the access data you use for the library account for the EZProxy server within the HoWeR research portal.

Students register once via Bibkey using their general ID (Moodle data) and create / change a password for their library account here:

Please make sure that your password has 8 to 12 digits.

All other HWR Berlin library users can register at the library information desk. Please have your identity card and a document about your university affiliation with you.

Forgot Password?

Students simply change the library password via Bibkey after entering their general ID.

Good to know: The matriculation number in its long form is also the user number for the university library. You can find this when you create your library password using Bibkey.

Our service for teaching, research and administration: We will continue to be happy to scan individual articles from printed journals from the library holdings for you, taking copyright into account. Send us an e-mail for this.

Are you writing a thesis or term paper and need help organizing your literature? Or would you like to find out more about what the university library has to offer? And what actually is Open Access? In the university library training courses, we show you where and how to find, manage and cite literature online and on site. We are also happy to answer your questions about your library account, access to databases and online research portals.
