Young Researchers and Academics

The promotion and nurturing of young scientists is of the utmost concern to HWR Berlin.

HWR Berlin employs young researchers, whose previous employment was primarily in third-party funded research projects. As a new concept for the creation of academic assistants at HWR Berlin has been implemented, budget-funded research assistants have since been employed. They are either engaged in doctoral work or assist in the acquisition of third-party funds or support teaching in various disciplines.

Subsidy Allocation

HWR Berlin supports research assistants and doctoral students in scientific exchange and networking with the international scientific community.

This support includes:

  • travel grants for conferences and conventions
  • grants for continuing professional development and academic and scientific career development
  • printing costs assistance

The purpose of this support is to assist doctoral students and research assistants in their career development.

The guidelines for subsidy allocation and the Application for Assistance in Travel and Printing Costs can be found in „Statutes and Guidelines“.
