Think – Connect – Move: University Day 2026
On 28 May 2026, our campus will be transformed into a hub of activity for everyone associated with the university. Instead of regular lectures, there will be opportunities for inspiration, networking and social debate. Our University Day 2026 will focus entirely on the issues that will shape our future: from artificial intelligence and sustainability to the promotion of democracy, innovation and health.

We’re putting together a varied programme that looks beyond the horizon:
- Inspiration: Talks on the key issues of our time.
- Insights: Presentations of current research projects and innovative student projects from all departments.
- Interaction: Practical workshops and seminars on skills relevant to the future.
- Information: Our central departments will present their support services and opportunities for student involvement.
- Discourse: Panel discussions with experts from our university and beyond.
- Balance: A wide range of sports and health activities to join in and recharge.
Participation & Points System
University Day is an integral part of your studies. To make the most of the programme’s diversity, all students are required to attend a minimum number of events. Attendance is recorded via a points system – simply scan the QR code for each session on site. Further details will follow.
Note for staff
Participation counts as regular working hours for all staff in technical and administrative roles, as well as those in research and teaching (please note that no overtime or time off in lieu will be accrued on the day).
We look forward to an inspiring day with you!
Catering on campus
We’ve also got you covered when it comes to food: throughout the day, food trucks on campus invite you to take a culinary break. Look forward to a selection of savoury and sweet treats, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. This way, you can recharge your batteries between workshops, talks and discussions and enjoy your day at university in a relaxed atmosphere.
