ECTS Grading Tables

ECTS Grading Tables help to place final grades in an international higher education context. They show the statistical distribution of final grades awarded within a degree programme over a defined period of time.

The tables help universities and other institutions in Germany and abroad to better understand how an individual final grade compares to the results achieved by other graduates of the same degree programme. This supports the comparability of academic achievements across the European Higher Education Area.

The ECTS Grading Tables are prepared in accordance with Section 34 of the Framework Study and Examination Regulations of the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin). They complement the information provided in the Transcript of Records and the Diploma Supplement.

The tables are organised by degree programme and are based on successfully completed final exams during the specified periods of references.

ECTS Grading Tables are published annually on 1st November for all graduates who completed their studies between 1st October of the previous year and 30th September of the current year. For degree programmes at the Berlin Professional School (BPS), the tables are published annually on 15th January for graduates from the period 1st December of the year before last to 30th November of the previous year.

Notes:

  • The ECTS Grading Tables will be issued for the first time for graduates who obtained their degree in the winter semester 2025/26 or the summer semester 2026. Graduates who obtained their degree before 1st October 2025 should contact their relevant Department Office.
  • An ECTS Grading Table cannot be produced if the number of graduates from a degree programme is fewer than 50 during the reference period in question.

Provided there is a sufficient large reference group, you will find the ECTS Grading Table for the respective degree programme below.
