How can value be created in a world full of challenges? This question was the focus of the 3rd BIP Student Conference, which took place from 12 to 16 May 2025 at FHWien der WKW. Under the motto ‘Value Creation in Challenging Times’, 150 students and teaching staff from all over Europe came together to develop new perspectives – creatively, practically and internationally networked.

The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, the Berlin School of Economics and Law, and Kozminski University in Warsaw joined forces with the host institution to put together a varied programme: From keynotes and company visits to an interactive video challenge and exciting pitch presentations.

Learn, experience, network: a conference with depth and team spirit

The conference offered a varied programme: in addition to keynotes and company visits, the focus was also on creative challenges and international teamwork. The event kicked off with a city tour of Vienna and an introduction to the ‘Vienna City Video Challenge,’ in which students in mixed groups captured their views of the city on film. The programme was rounded off by company visits to Blaha Büromöbel, Lobmeyr Glasmanufaktur and the Ottakringer Brewery, as well as a visit to UNO City Vienna.

Business meets creativity: when students shape the future

‘The conference shows how European cooperation in higher education is put into practice – and how young talents work together on solutions for the future,’ says Prof. Dr. Birgit Felden, Head of the (degree) programme in Business Start-ups and Succession at the HWR Berlin, who launched the conference three years ago. Participants and partner companies particularly highlighted the enriching combination of theory and practice, business and creativity.

Graduation with distinction: prizes for best videos and presentations

The conference concluded with an awards ceremony at the Luftburg Kolarik in the heart of Vienna's Prater park, where prizes were awarded for the best entries in the video challenge and outstanding research presentations. The conference ended with a joint dinner and international networking.
