The horrific terrorist attack at Christopher Street Day in Berlin last weekend has deeply shaken us all. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, friends, the queer community and everyone affected by this act of violence.
The HWR Berlin / Berlin School of Economics and Law also provides training for the senior police service of the State of Berlin. That is why, at this time, our thoughts are also with our police officers and our alumni, who, like other emergency services personnel, are carrying out their duties under exceptionally stressful conditions. To them we extend our thanks, our appreciation and our wish for strength and confidence as they face the tasks ahead.
As a university, we stand for democracy, freedom, diversity and mutual respect. We are committed to these values and are strongly dedicated to ensuring that they are reflected throughout our university.
Prof. Dr Jens Hermsdorf
President of HWR Berlin / Berlin School of Economics and Law
