Two European Business Schools – One Double Degree
The new double degree programme within the Berlin Part-Time MBA, run by the Berlin Professional School at HWR Berlin in cooperation with Porto Business School, will commence in winter semester 2026/27

Berlin, 2 July 2026 – The Berlin Professional School at the HWR Berlin / Berlin School of Economics and Law is further expanding its collaboration with the renowned Porto Business School at the University of Porto. From the 2026/2027 winter semester, students on the Berlin Part-Time MBA programme will be able to obtain an MBA from the Portuguese partner institution in addition to their MBA from HWR Berlin / Berlin School of Economics and Law. The new double-degree programme combines the strengths of two internationally oriented business schools and opens up additional career prospects for working professionals in the European and global labour market.
Quality with International Standards
Porto Business School is one of Europe’s internationally renowned business schools. As a so-called triple-accredited institution, it is one of the few universities worldwide to hold accreditations from the three leading international agencies: AACSB, EFMB and AMBA. Furthermore, it regularly features in the Financial Times rankings and is known for its practice-oriented executive education, an international student body and close links to the business world.
The Berlin Professional School is also committed to the highest quality standards: its MBA programmes are accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA). Through this partnership, two internationally renowned business schools are combining their strengths to create an attractive programme for executives with international career aspirations.
Dual qualification for global leadership skills
“With the double degree, we are offering our students the opportunity to expand their international management education in a targeted manner. They will earn two internationally recognised MBA degrees and benefit from a personalised choice of modules focused on future-oriented topics, international networks and valuable experience in an international academic environment. This provides our graduates with excellent preparation for leadership roles in a global working environment,” says Professor Dr Solveig Reißig-Thust, Academic Director of the Berlin Part-Time MBA.
The Berlin Professional School and Porto Business School have been successfully collaborating on the Berlin Part-Time MBA since 2023. To date, the partnership has included joint elective modules and reciprocal study visits. With the double degree, the collaboration is now being taken to the next level.
Earn a dual MBA degree without pausing your career
The double-degree programme is tailored to the needs of working professionals. With a manageable additional workload, participants can earn two internationally recognised MBA degrees within around two years. They also gain access to the alumni networks, career services and business contacts of both universities. Additional study periods in Berlin and Porto provide international learning experiences without the need to complete a full second degree programme.
Courses take place on Fridays and Saturdays and are offered either entirely online or in a hybrid format with selected in-person sessions in Porto. The language of instruction is English.
Six places are available each year on the double-degree programme. This new option within the Berlin Part-Time MBA is aimed, for the first time, at students commencing their studies in the winter semester of 2026/27.
Applications for the October 2026 intake are still being accepted.
Applicants can find details there on the course structure, entry requirements and application deadlines.
