14th International Conference on Public Administration: Theme »Healthy Cities«
The 14th International Conference on Public Administration will be held from 24 to 26 October, 2019 at Berlin School of Economics and Law. It will be jointly organized by the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs of the Baruch College/CUNY, the School of Public Administration at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE, Chengdu), the Department of Public Administration at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL) and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Ghent University.

‘Health policy’ has been the red thread in the conferences that have been organized for many years by SWUFE and BSEL under the banner of ‘German-Sino Conference’. Since 2014 academics from Baruch College/CUNY and Ghent University systematically participated in these conferences.
For 2019 Berlin School of Economics and Law has the honor to organize this conference and therefore to invite you to submit your abstracts.
Conference Description
The conference theme builds upon last year’s theme of ‘healthy cities’. ‘Health’ and more specifically the policy aspects of health are viewed as a broad concept, encompassing every policy that in some manner contributes to the healthy living together and well-being of people in large communities, i.e. cities. Besides medical aspects, many other kinds of parameters (ecological, sociological, financial, infrastructural, nutritional, etc.) are relevant here. Participants to the conference are thus invited to submit abstracts that deal with such aspects of government policies in the four countries that are involved.
Besides the general call for papers, this year’s conference wants to pay special attention to the role that cities can play in the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals as put forward in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015.
Papers may address issues emerging at the local, provincial, national or transnational levels, focusing particularly on China, German, Belgium and the United States of America.
Master and Doctoral (PhD) students are invited to give a presentation on their theme of the Master or Doctoral thesis. Graduates with a very good or good degree no more than 1 year ago are also welcome.
